Uncle Greg
Morgans uncle Greg came for the weekend from Latvia with his girlfriend Irena. We went to Hampstead Heath, where Greg used to live 40 years ago. We also went the Highgate Cemetery, where we saw some final resting places of renown figures like Karl Marx and Douglas Addams. We also stopped in for a pint at The Spaniard, a pub built in 1585 where giants like Keats, Byron and Bram Stoker wrote.

Prague
One of the best things about living in London is quick and easy access to amazing European destinations. For Morgan's birthday I got her a surprise trip to Prague for the weekend.
We stayed right in the middle of Old Town Square, which they say hasn't changed much in the last 1000 years. We stayed in this adorable little AirBnB, down a tiny cobble stone street, right below the cathedral that looks like it's straight out of a fairytale.
The first night we were there we just wondered around the Square, listening street performers, grabbing a few beers and having halušky, popular potato, cabbage and bacon street food.
The next day, we really lucked out with the warmish sunny weather. We did not luck out with our, let's say, long winded walking tour guide. We started out with 8 folks on the tour, but one by one the other tourers snuck off and by 1/2 way through Mo and were the only ones left. Well now it would be awkward if we bail too. We're stuck til the end of the 4 hour walk.
We did see some amazing things on the tour though including The oldest working astronomical clock in the world.
We made a hasty exit from our tour guide and got some dinner.
Next day we went on a walk around the city. We saw:
We just happened to be there during Masopust. Basically Carnival. Where everyone dresses in crazy masks and costumes, has a processional around the city, drinking mulled wine and playing music. Quite a thing to see.
That evening, we went to a fantastic beer hall called U Zlatého Tygra. You sit at a communal table and they serve one beer, and one beer only, and it keeps coming until you say stop. Urquell.
Up early on Monday, quick flight back and straight to work.

Next day we went on a walk around the city. We saw:
- Charles V bridge, spanning the Vltava River, from 1357.
- The largest Castle in the world, Praha Castle, dating back to 870.
- St Vitus Cathedral from 925 where Bohemian kings and queens have been coronated

We ended the day with literally the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. At the Lippert Restaurant, just off the square we had Konfitovanà veprová pečenê kysanym zelím a bramborovym knedlíkem. Bacon and potato dumplings crout in gravy.
Next day, went on a bit of a hike back around the city. Over to a large park, took a funicular up to the top to enjoy an amazing view of the city, and read about the communist history of the Czech Republic. Hiked around a bit, then back down, and back to old towne square. That evening, we went to a fantastic beer hall called U Zlatého Tygra.
