Camping in Avebury

Did my first camping since coming to England.  We out to Avebury with our friends Marc and Gavin.  The campground is super crowded, but it's right in back of a pub and is right next to a canal path

Went for a run in the rain in the morning and ran into all sorts of animals.

Avebury is where the largest stone circle in Europe.  So, there are all the mystics and crazies that show up here.

Here I am in one of the crop circles that the aliens left in the wheat field.

Here's the neolithic stone circle that surrounds the village

Taking a nap on the henge.

The hills all around are made of chalk that is covered in shrubbery and grass.  In the 18th century, some farmer decorated his farm by clearing away the foliage to make a horse figure.

After camping and hiking, we stopped in for lunch and pint at this lovely pub.
